Bayou Cove in Pinellas Park during construction

"Sold" signs on home sites in Bayou Cove, Pinellas Park in June 2012

“Sold” signs on home sites in Bayou Cove, Pinellas Park in June 2012

This post about Bayou Cove in Pinellas Park is long overdue, when the 22 home sites went on the market in Spring of 2012, the builder sold them like hotcakes!

Seems like every time I drove by, there were more “SOLD” signs on lots. This didn’t really surprise me, the builder Ryland Homes most definitely was filling a great void in Pinellas County, there are very few vacant lots available, new homes are scares in our area. Buyers jumped on the opportunity to build a brand new, upscale home in a quiet corner, tucked away in the heart of a very urban, busy area.

Bayou Cove was completely “sold” within a short time, and construction was moving along quickly.

All 22 homes were completed between Spring/Summer 2012 through Summer 2013. I hope these photos make the current and future residents of Bayou Cove smile, seems like a long time since the two roads “88TH AVE N” and “70TH WAY N” in Pinellas Park looked like this:

It was really great to see that Ryland Homes immediately made the entrance to the neighborhood nice, the flowers and landscaping by the Bayou Cove sign were always beautifully manicured and maintained, right along with the retention pond by the entrance off Belcher Road.

On my visit to Bayou Cove in June 2012, I also had the joy and privilege to meet the very first Bayou Cove Resident. He/she was enjoying some peace and quiet by the pond, while the construction crews were busy building homes:

Model Home going up

Model Home being built - February 2012

Bayou Cove Pinellas Park, FL is a brand new development in the area, it will have 22 single family homes, and offers one of the few opportunities in the South/Center of Pinellas County to own a brand new home. Sure, there are open lots that you can build on here and there in Pinellas County, but what is so nice about Bayou Cove is that it is across the street from the Bayou Club entrance and North of Bayou West, so it is right next door to other nice neighborhoods, and not in between a mix of older homes. The Builder has not released pricing yet, but they pre-advertise that pricing will be in the mid-300′s.

Homes will range from 2,444 sq ft up to 3,500 sq ft, and every single floorplan they are offering boast a 3 car garage! This feature is unusual because the smallest home offers 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, so most people would assume a 2 car garage is sufficient. In Florida, where nobody has a basement and all your storage happens in the attic (talk about melting your Christmas decorations!!) or in your garage (and that’s why my car is in the driveway!), a 3 car garage is a beautiful thing. Looking at that, I appreciate the thoughts the Builder must have put into this development, and can’t wait to learn more details.

I am very excited for Bayou Cove to open up, speaking to the Builder, they seem to have quiet some interest already. It has been a long time since the last new neighborhood has opened where you can find an upscale single family home and pick everything to your own taste: colors, upgrades, you name it. If you want a nice home and shop in the Bayou Club, Bayou West, Bayou Pointe or Bardmoor, you are looking at a “resale” house. Bayou Cove can fill a unique need, people who are looking to build a brand new home, and want to pick their floorplan, colors, counters, etc. have finally (again) the option to do so in the Largo area.

There is a cluster of great neighborhoods in the heart of Pinellas County, with close access to I275 and the beaches. This is a vibrant, busy and very densely populated area, with tons of things to do. Many areas in Pinellas County have older, modest homes, that were built in the 50′s and 60′s. But between The Bayou Club, Bayou Cove, Bayou West, Bayou Pointe and Bardmoor, we have a big community of single family homes that are consistent, appealing, well manicured, and built in the late 70′s up to now!

If you know the Bayou/Bardmoor are already, enjoy this information and please comment if I missed any of the features of each neighborhood.  If I sparked your interest, and you and are interested in buying or selling in this area, please give me a call or send me an email. I would love to talk to you!
